Longstowe Hall

Dating from the reign of Elizabeth I, Longstowe Hall lies hidden within ancient woodland that opens out to reveal a glorious English garden.

With its spectacular double borders sweeping down to the lake, Longstowe Hall is a beautiful setting for a truly romantic wedding. In 2015, the owners decided they wanted to transform the drawing room into a space for weddings. Renowned interior designer, Christopher Vane Percy, was involved and he approached Zardi & Zardi to commission some pieces for Longstowe. It was agreed that the newly acquired Triumph of the Gods tapestries would be perfect to transform the space into a perfect wedding venue, now known as the 'Rose Ballroom'. In this instance the tapestries were used as fabric walling rather than wall-hangings. Of particular interest was the ‘hidden’ door

Particularly interesting in this project is the jib door; invisible hinges were purchased and millimetres shaved off the actual door enabling our fitters to cover the door in the same way as the rest of the wall, allowing it to sit flush and disguising it.
